Our Story

The idea of Aspen Grove Academy was first kindled in the minds of Matt and Michelle Asplund around 2018. It was first envisioned as the name of the homeschool for the children they were planning on having. Seven years and one child later it was clear that Benny was going to be the only child joining their family. Educational freedom through a homeschool model was still the plan but they agreed that Benny needed classmates.

This is when the idea of Beautiful Day Playschool took root and Michelle started building. Now, in late 2026, Beautiful Day is a thriving community of pre-school aged children and their families and the next phase is under development.

Aspen Grove Academy has grown beyond the concept of a small family homeschool and is currently in the planning stages of becoming a 501-c3, Not For Profit, tuition free private school. Our mission is to come alongside six to eight children born between 2020 and 2025 and usher them through their scholastic experience pre-k to high school graduation. We offer our students and families flexibility, agency, and personalized instruction aimed to meet each child in a place that best serves them as an individual.
